Kate's Tips:
How to get started with your writing now that your kids are in school:
Go straight to your desk or the coffee shop once kids are on the bus or dropped off.
Start by making a list of details about a moment or memory that you don’t want to forget.
Turn off your internal editor. Don’t worry about grammar or spelling. No one needs to read your first-draft writing.
Write for 15-20 minutes without stopping to edit or second-guess yourself.
Be accountable to someone -- a friend, a writing partner.
Figure out a realistic writing schedule -- something you can stick to. (You don’t need to write every day. What will work for you and your family?)
